Proteger la salud de las mujeres en situaciones de conflicto

Protecting women’s health in conflict

Date: Thursday 19 June 2025

Time: 14:00-15:30 UTC

Description:

Around the world, war, conflict and displacement continue to place women’s health at grave risk. According to UN Women, it is estimated that 612 million women and girls now live within 50 km of active conflict zones – a striking 50% increase from ten years ago. Women, girls and their healthcare providers are often directly and indirectly caught in the crossfire.

This webinar brings together critical insights from across regions affected by conflict and forced migration to explore how healthcare providers and health systems are responding to these urgent challenges. Healthcare professionals, policymakers and advocates working at the intersection of gender, health and humanitarian response are encouraged to join this essential session.

FIGO member societies and the international community are commended for their work in building more resilient health systems that prioritise the health and wellbeing of women and girls in this time of global crises and uncertainty.

This webinar is organised by the FIGO Committee on Women Facing Crisis in collaboration with the FIGO Committee on Health Systems Strengthening and Respectful Care.

Language: English with live interpretation in French and Spanish.
